The Daily Port Listing is a compilation of all the exports and imports effected through specified Indian Ports. It is available in many editions, some covering specific industries e.g. Textiles, Leather, Chemicals, etc. Others cover all exports and imports to specific countries only. And yet others are specially developed for the requirements of a specific industry e.g. the Shipping Industry. In each edition, you can opt for a Lite (with limited features), a Pro (most features) and an Enterprise Version (for Consultancy Firms and Associations). This edition of the Daily Port Listing contains details of all the exports and imports cleared through Mumbai from April 1998 to February 2001 and through Chennai from April 2000 to February 2001. It includes details of 1,747,279 Export Consignments & 1,621,316 Import Consignments For each export consignment, the following details are given: For each Import consignment, the following details are given: Yes! All this information for each and everyone of the 3 million + consignments covered by this database. And you must be wondering how the heck am I going to find what I want in this huge database. You can find almost anything in minutes. All you have to do is to indicate what you want! Want to know who's importing 'Polyvinyl Alcohol'? Just select the Import Database, look for the consignments whose Product Descriptions have the words "Polyvinyl" and " Alcohol'. Within seconds, you will have a list of the parties who have imported this product. Want to know what "Asian Paints" is importing? Just select the Import Database, look for the consignments where the Importers' name have the words "Asian" and "Paints'. Within seconds, you will have a list of the Products imported by "Asian Paints". Are you dealing in Essential Oils classified under "3301" and want to know what's happening ? Just select the Import Database, look for the consignments imported under ITC Code 3301. Within seconds, you will have a list of all relevant consignments with the names of the importers and the product they have imported etc. etc. Or perhaps you want to take a broader perspective and want to analyze the movements of Pharmaceutical Products as a whole? Again it's simple. Just select the Import Database and select ITC Chapter 30 (Pharmaceuticals). Within minutes, the program's search engine will extract the details of all relevant consignments and you can then analyze these for say party wise performance or product wise breakup etc. etc. Perhaps you are going to China this week and are thinking of expanding into other product lines and want to know which Chemicals are really moving!! This will take but a few minutes. Just select the import database and select ITC Section 6 (Chemicals and Allied Industries) and select China. Within minutes you will have the entire ex-Mumbai and ex-Chennai Trade with China extracted for analyzing. Keen to know what's happening in Chennai? Especially in respect of the products you deal in? Again this should not take long. Just select the import database, then enter the product and select Chennai. Well that's it. You now have before you all the details! The database goes way back to April 1998 and at this instance you want to know what were the imports of Gum Rosin during the last 3 months only. Again there's no problem. Select the import database, select the product 'Gum Rosin" and select the Import period for the 3 month period from 01/09/2000 to 30/11/2000. Pesto! the information is in front of you. May be you think in US Dollars? 5.8 US $ per Kg for this item or 4.6 US $ for that item. And you would prefer to see all the reports you get in US Dollars! No problem! Just select the currency option before you run the query and select the currency. After that all reports will be generated in US Dollars. And what information you can get for imports, you can get for exports. Just select the export database instead of the import database. So you see, it's really easy. You can ask and get information within minutes. All you have to do is to specify what you want! Once you have got the information, it can be previewed and printed. Reports are generated and this you can do in as many as 309 different predefined formats, each Report highlighting a different aspect of the information. And finally, the retrieved information can be viewed on screen, grouped, sub-grouped and sorted as specified by you. Viewing on screen is known as browsing. And to make things easy, you can create Profiles, storing therein the query, report or browsing criteria for automatic extraction of the required information followed by report generation or online browsing.
